Community

We treat our students like family, and as such we aim to educate them beyond the classroom, just as you do at home. Marpole Bilingual Montessori School achieves this through a number of community outreach programs. For example, last year we:

  • Visited the Southlands Farm Pumpkin Patch
  • Enjoyed the Very Hungry Caterpillar Play and the Cinderella Play
  • Explored the H.R. MacMillan Space Center
  • Went ice skating
  • Enjoyed walks in the community
  • Investigated the Neighborhood Fire Station
  • Toured the Vancouver Maritime Museum
  • Played with clay at the ceramic studio
  • Listened to Dentists and Police Officers share their stories
  • Visited our local seniors home
  • Monthly snack drive for the “Vancouver Firefighter’s Charitable Snacks for Kids”
  • Provided Winter Hampers for 5 local families in need

Parent Teacher Association

The Parent Teacher Association is an organization, which assists the school and the community through a wide variety of services. The PTA Focuses on the following objectives:

  • Providing an additional means of communication among parents and the School
  • Providing funds for the otherwise unfunded activities outside of the school curriculum, such as academic enrichment, philanthropic endeavors and cultural events
  • Providing volunteers for various school activities

Note: The PTA issues yearly financial statements and maintains full independence from the schools governance structure.
